Common message

The account can still use the App Store, but buying paid apps or in-app purchases fails. The message usually reads:

Message shown
The purchase could not be completed. Please contact iTunes Support.

Rule out common causes

  • The payment method was declined, or its details do not match your financial institution's records.

  • The account has an unpaid balance.

  • The item is not available in the account's country or region.

Handle it in AppleHelper

Once these causes are ruled out, choose Unlock Paid App Purchase in Chat tasks. AI explains that paid purchases fail, answers questions about the item, payment method, device and system version, and provides a Support PIN when needed.

Advisors often ask you to wait 24 to 72 hours for a review, and the task records this. During that time, avoid repeated purchase attempts and new requests.

Possible outcomes

Removed
The advisor confirms that the purchase restriction has been removed.
Under review
The advisor asks you to try again after the review period.
Cannot be removed
The advisor confirms purchases are still unavailable, or declines the request.

If the message says the account is disabled in the App Store, use a Restore App Store Access task instead.
