Requesting a Price Adjustment After an Apple Store Price Drop
In some countries and regions, you can request the price difference when Apple lowers the price of an Apple-branded product shortly after you receive it.
On this page
When it applies
Under Apple's U.S. retail sales policy, if Apple reduces the price of an Apple-branded product within 14 calendar days of the date you receive it, you can request a refund or credit of the difference within 14 days of the price change. Limited-time promotions and special sales events are excluded.
Policies differ by country or region. Eligibility depends on Apple's local sales policy and the advisor's review.
What to prepare
Order link: AppleHelper can read the order number and order email from an Apple order link.
Order email: used to verify the order and to receive a gift card for the difference.
Order details: phone number, shipping address, model, color, capacity and order date can be retrieved automatically when order detail sync is enabled.
Handle it in AppleHelper
Choose Order Price Protection in Chat tasks. AI contacts Apple Store support and asks for the full price difference, preferring a refund to the original payment method and also accepting a gift card sent to the order email.
If the advisor offers only partial compensation, suggests returning and repurchasing, or gives an unclear outcome, the task is handed over for your review.
Possible outcomes
- Accepted
- The advisor has submitted the request or committed to a refund or gift card.
- Not eligible
- The advisor declines the request after review.
- Try again later
- The advisor asks you to contact Apple on another day.
An accepted request does not mean the money has arrived. Rely on Apple's notices and the actual payment.
